Complete structural and finish work on furniture, parquet floors, and mid-size commissions. Quoted after a free consultation.
Museum-grade treatments, historic interiors, and commercial fit-outs. Scope-based proposals with phased billing available.
These are honest starting points, not quotes. Any commission over $450 receives a written proposal with an itemised cost breakdown before work begins.
Six factors account for almost every difference between the starting rate and the final proposal. None of them are surprises — all are discussed during the free consultation.
The single biggest variable. A piece needing only structural work costs less than one needing both structural and finish restoration.
Exotic veneers and very old timber require matching stock from our library and slower, more careful work at the bench.
Hand-rubbed oil sits at the lower end; French polish or custom-tinted lacquer at the higher end, due to labour and cure time.
A single chair versus a full eight-seat dining set. Curved surfaces, inlay, and carving all add hours at the bench.
Standard scheduling has no rush charge. Expedited work — under two weeks — carries a 20% surcharge, subject to availability.
On-site work includes a call-out fee and travel. In-workshop work includes free pickup and delivery within 25 miles.
We invoice in stages so you always know what you are paying for. No deposits are non-refundable — if you cancel before the sample is approved, the deposit is returned in full.
Payable once you approve the written proposal and sample board. This schedules your slot at the bench.
Only for projects over $5,000. Payable once structural work is complete and the finish stage begins.
Payable on delivery or pickup, after your final inspection. We accept cards, ACH, and checks.
Yes, for small pieces. Send photographs and dimensions to [email protected], and we will respond with an approximate range. Any project over $450 requires an in-person assessment before we can quote firmly.
Sample boards are included free with any commission over $450. For standalone sample requests, the rate is $280 per set, which is credited toward your commission if you proceed.
You are called before any work proceeds beyond the agreed scope. We provide a revised cost and timeline, and you decide whether to accept, scale back, or stop. Work never continues on the assumption of approval.
Yes, subject to availability. Expedited work — under two weeks from approval — carries a 20% surcharge. Rush slots are limited because we do not move other clients' projects to accommodate them.

If the finished piece does not match the approved proposal or sample board, we take it back and correct the issue at no cost. This has not happened since 2019, but the policy stands. Full terms are on the warranty page.
