These terms govern your use of the Heritage Wood Revival website and the restoration services we provide. They are intended to be readable — not to hide anything in the fine print.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("client", "you") and Heritage Wood Revival ("we", "us"), an atelier located at 2284 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain View, CA 94043. By using this website or commissioning work from us, you accept these Terms in full.
Where a signed written proposal exists between us, that proposal takes precedence over these Terms in the event of a conflict.
We provide hand restoration of wooden furniture, parquet floors, and architectural woodwork, together with related services including custom finishing, damage restoration, antique conservation, and on-site work. Full descriptions are on our Services page.
We reserve the right to decline any commission, at any stage, if we believe the work is outside our competence, presents an unreasonable risk to the piece, or conflicts with our standards.
Written proposals are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. The scope of work described in a proposal is based on the condition of the piece at the time of assessment. If hidden damage or prior poor repairs are discovered during the work, we will contact you with a revised scope and cost before proceeding.
We do not accept client-supplied materials (finishes, adhesives, replacement timber) into a commission unless we have inspected them and agreed in writing. Materials supplied by clients are used at the client's risk.
Standard payment terms are set out on our Pricing page and repeated in each written proposal. In summary:
We accept ACH, checks, and major credit cards. A 2.9% processing fee applies to credit card payments over $1,000. ACH and check payments carry no fee.
Overdue balances accrue interest at 1.5% per month. If a piece remains uncollected for more than 90 days after completion, we reserve the right to charge storage at $20 per day, per piece.
Projected completion windows are estimates made in good faith. Restoration of wood is subject to variables — curing times, moisture conditions, the discovery of hidden damage — that can extend a timeline. We will contact you before any significant delay.
Standard pickup and delivery are included within 25 miles of Mountain View. Beyond that radius, transport is quoted separately and covered by dedicated cargo insurance. Transport arranged by the client is at the client's risk.
Storage of a finished piece is free for 14 days. Thereafter, storage fees may apply at our discretion, disclosed in advance.

All restoration work is covered by a five-year workmanship guarantee. The full terms, including what is and is not covered, are set out on our Warranty page. Nothing in these Terms overrides the specific warranty terms described there.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to any commission is limited to the amount actually paid by you for that commission.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of use, or loss of sentimental value, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
We are not liable for damage caused by events outside our control, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, theft, civil unrest, or acts of God. We maintain general liability and cargo insurance and will cooperate fully with your own insurer in the event of a claim.
We would much rather resolve any concern directly. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at [email protected]. We commit to responding within 10 business days with a proposed resolution.
If direct resolution is not possible, both parties agree to attempt good-faith mediation in Santa Clara County, California, before pursuing litigation. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief.

Unless you object in writing, we may photograph completed commissions and use those photographs in our portfolio, on this website, and on our professional channels. We will never publish your name or address without your written consent.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not resolved through mediation shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction.
