Furniture Restoration — from a wobble to a rebuild.

Complete restoration of antique and modern wooden furniture. Whether a joint has loosened after fifty years of family dinners or a piece has been left in a barn since the seventies, we bring it back — structurally sound, appropriate to its era, and ready to be used every day.

Parquet Floor Restoration — pattern by pattern.

We restore historic parquet floors — herringbone, chevron, basket weave, and Versailles — throughout the Bay Area, including many that other shops have declined. Our work is dust-controlled, pattern-matched, and finished by hand.

The right finish makes a restored piece look alive. We match finishes to historic specification, to a photograph you bring us, or to a contemporary design brief — and we never begin work until you have approved a physical sample board.

We respond to water, fire, and smoke damage for residential and commercial clients across the Bay Area. Every project includes the full written condition report and photographic documentation insurance companies expect.

Antique Conservation — minimum intervention, maximum care.

For historically significant pieces — family heirlooms, collector items, and institutional holdings — we practise conservation rather than restoration. That means reversible materials, archival methods, and a commitment to preserving the object's history rather than polishing it away.

On-Site Services — when the piece cannot travel.

Some pieces are too large, too fixed, or too fragile to move. For those, our mobile bench travels instead — fully equipped with the same tools, materials, and craftsmen who work in the atelier.

Answers to the things clients ask first.

How do you decide between restoration and conservation?

Restoration returns a piece to a defined prior state — often to how it looked when new, and typically for pieces in active daily use. Conservation preserves what remains of the original, prioritising reversible treatments and refusing to remove historic surface. The choice depends on the piece, its provenance, and how you intend to live with it. We walk you through both options at the consultation.

Do you work on modern furniture too, or only antiques?

Both. Roughly half of our commissions are on modern pieces — mid-century Danish and American work, custom-built cabinetry, high-end contemporary furniture. The methods differ, but the standard is the same.

Can you match an existing finish on a piece I have at home?

Yes. Bring us the piece or a companion piece already in the same finish, and we will prepare a sample board that matches sheen, colour, and depth. Two rounds of adjustment are included at no extra cost before we touch the original.

What is the smallest job you will take?

There is no minimum. A single loose joint, a stripped screw hole, or a chipped edge is a normal morning at the bench. Small repairs are typically quoted at the workshop and completed within a few days.

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Yes — white-glove pickup and delivery are included for most projects within 25 miles of Mountain View. Beyond that radius, transport is quoted separately and always insured. For fragile pieces we use custom crating and dedicated vehicles, never third-party couriers.

How does billing work?

We require a 30% deposit to schedule work, with the balance due on delivery or completion. For projects over $5,000 we split payment into three stages — deposit, mid-project, and delivery. We accept cards, ACH, and checks. For insurance claims, direct billing is available to approved carriers.

What if the piece turns out to be beyond saving?

It happens, and we will tell you before you spend anything. Some pieces — heavily compromised by powder-post beetle, long-term water damage, or decades of poor repairs — cost far more to restore than they are worth. In those cases we recommend a responsible next step, whether that is a partial treatment, a conservation-only approach, or careful disposal.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every restoration carries a five-year workmanship guarantee. If a joint fails, a finish lifts, or a veneer separates within that window, we repair it at no charge. Full terms are on the warranty page.
